Over 10 square miles of open water to explore

Our recreation area is located inside the Long Beach breakwater on San Pedro Bay and the Los Angeles Harbor. As the world's longest man‑made breakwater, the Long Beach breakwater stretches 13,350 feet across and is located two miles offshore, providing an expansive, yet safe, area to enjoy the waters of the Long Beach Harbor Marinas. What's more, the area's temperate climate has created a virtual mecca for recreational boaters — there are spaces for more than 4,400 boats! With year‑round optimum sailing conditions, Long Beach is home to numerous marine events such as The Congressional Sailing Cup, The Transpac, the Olympic trial races, as well as the annual Dragon Boat Race.
